Are you an experienced veterinarian who enjoys helping others grow but doesn’t want to step away from clinical practice?
A unique opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Trainer that combines hands-on veterinary work with dedicated mentoring and training!
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract commencing in November or December 2026, with the possibility of an ongoing role if desired.
The caseload is small animal and will involve 50% clinical work and 50% mentoring and training.
This is not a classroom-based training position. The role will involve training and supporting new graduates daily, assisting them in growing practical clinical skills (not just theory). The successful applicant will provide guidance in consults, surgery and case management.
You will work across two busy, well-established small animal clinics with experienced teams, strong caseloads and their own established workflows. The clinics operate as a connected group, sharing knowledge and supporting one another.
The salary is $130,000 to $150,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience and skillset. Generous after-hours remuneration is paid in addition. Accommodation is available if required.
This role is well-suited to an experienced vet with excellent communication skills and competence across all areas of GP medicine and surgery. Applicants must possess a strong interest in mentoring and teaching and be hands-on in helping others. If you enjoy helping others, improve, grow and succeed, this would be a great role for you.
The region combines coastal and rural living and is known as a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Beaches, islands, fishing, snorkelling and other outdoor activities offer plenty to enjoy away from the clinic.
