An exciting opportunity is available for a veterinarian to join an experienced and skilled team at a mixed practice in coastal Queensland.
If you are interested in moving to a regional area and taking advantage of the benefits of working in a great team that values your support and development, this could be the perfect position for you!
This practice has a strong foundation to both mentor and provide a supportive environment.
There is a busy surgical and medical caseload, and as there are no referral centres in town, the successful applicant will be exposed to complex and varied cases. This position will suit someone keen to learn, but also happy to take on a challenge.
A visiting surgical specialist attends the clinic twice yearly, which allows a great learning opportunity and a chance to keep some referrals in-house.
This role is 95% small animal with a touch of cattle work. The practice is more than happy to hear from vets who would prefer a 100% small animal caseload.
Ideally, the practice is looking for a full-time vet, however, they will consider vets wanting to work part-time hours. Typically, full-time veterinarians will work approximately 76 hours per fortnight.
The clinic is well-equipped with a brand new ultrasound, plating equipment, MMP equipment, and standard hospital equipment (monitoring equipment, digital x-ray, and dental machine).
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
The practice is located just a short walk from the beach, beautiful parks, and a shopping centre. There are many activities to get involved in around the area. Camping, fishing and other water sports are common hobbies among locals. The area has an airport and train facilities and is approximately 5-6 hours from Brisbane by car.
