JOB NO: 222,629LH2

A progressive, privately-owned practice on the foothills of the Victorian Alps is seeking a vet nurse.

The practice has a loyal, long-standing client base and a team of six veterinarians who are committed to providing high standards of care in a friendly rural setting. You will be joining a supportive, family-friendly workplace where teamwork and good communication are valued.

The purpose-built clinic includes three consult rooms (with one dedicated feline consult room), separate dog and cat hospital wards, critical care cages and on-site cattery, dog boarding and grooming facilities. The team is well supported by modern diagnostic equipment, including digital radiography, IM3 dental x ray, IDEXX in-house laboratory systems, ultrasound and advanced blood analysis tools, allowing you to provide a high level of nursing care.

In this full time role you will enjoy a varied small animal nursing position with plenty of hands on involvement in patient care. Your day will include assisting with consultations, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and hospital care, preparing and maintaining surgical equipment, monitoring anaesthesia and supporting procedures and more!

This role is ideal if you are looking for a genuinely varied caseload, a competitive hourly rate, staff discounts and the backing of strong leadership in a hands on, supportive and family-friendly team.

This full time position is worked over four days per week to support a healthy work-life balance. The role includes rostered after-hours nurse checks for inpatients, as well as assisting vets during emergencies and on-call weekends.

The ideal candidate will hold veterinary nursing qualifications (Cert IV or equivalent), have at least two years’ experience in small animal practice and bring a friendly, team-focused approach to both clients and colleagues. If you are a caring, confident nurse who enjoys a varied role in a supportive rural clinic, this position is well worth considering.

The practice is located in a friendly and affluent town nestled at the base of the mountains. It is a popular holiday destination, approximately 2.5 hours north-east of Melbourne. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside, a selection of wineries, and snowfields on its doorstep.
