A mixed practice in New Zealand’s Manawatu-Wanganui Region is seeking an experienced vet nurse to join their team. This role is to work within the companion animal department at their modern and well-equipped hospital.

This permanent full-time position, Monday – Friday. There is a shared rota of Saturdays amongst the team.

The right applicant will join a team of highly skilled vets, nurses and support staff. The companion animal team is headed by a clinician with more than 10 years of experience. There is the opportunity to work alongside specialists, giving you the chance to utilize and expand your skills!

Key attributes of the position include:

– Assisting with consultations.

– Provision of a high standard of nursing care for medical patients.

– Assistance with the organisation and performance of various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including radiography, ultrasonography, and endoscopy.

– Assisting with anaesthesia for a variety of medical and surgical procedures.

– Monitoring care of patients and follow up after surgery.

– Organization and management of processes for the referral of patients for medical investigation and care.

– General clinic administration tasks.
