A well-equipped small animal hospital in a desirable inner suburb of Sydney is seeking a senior veterinary nurse to join its friendly, growing team.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, with shared weekends and public holidays. The role would suit a confident nurse who enjoys leadership, mentoring, maintaining high clinical standards and being part of a practice that genuinely values patient care and team support.
In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to medical and surgical patients and be closely involved in anaesthesia, surgery, diagnostics and inpatient care. You will work alongside a veterinary team with a broad range of skills and experience, with exposure to interesting and complex cases that are managed in-house.
The practice is equipped with orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery services, CT, a full in-house Idexx laboratory and AI cytology, giving nurses the opportunity to work to a high standard and fully utilise their skills in day-to-day patient care.
This is a great opportunity for a nurse who enjoys supporting others. You will play an important part in mentoring junior nurses and students, contributing to clinical protocols and best-practice standards, and helping maintain a clean, organised and efficient hospital environment. Strong communication with both clients and colleagues will be important, as will a calm, adaptable approach and a genuine commitment to quality care.
The employer is looking for a qualified veterinary nurse with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent, along with several years of post-qualification experience. You will be confident with anaesthesia, inpatient care and nurse consults, and ready to either step into or continue in a senior nursing position with a hands-on approach.
Above award salary is on offer, based on experience, with regular reviews. Additional benefits include Fitness Passport access, an Employee Assistance Program with confidential counselling and support, regular team social events, a monthly team budget for shared food, fun activities and staff comfort items, along with ongoing CPD and career development opportunities.
This vibrant, sought-after suburb of Sydney offers an appealing mix of city convenience and neighbourhood charm, with well-known dining precincts, live music, boutique shopping, village-style suburbs and strong public transport links into the CBD and surrounding areas.
