A veterinarian is required to join a practice close to the Yarra Valley in Victoria. If you are a compassionate, personable vet who values a high standard of care in a supportive, non-corporate setting, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

The caseload is 95% small animal, with the occasional sheep or goat. The practice can accommodate small animal or mixed practice vets and there is room to increase the large animal caseload if you are keen to do so.

The role allows for a balanced work-life schedule with either a full or part-time position available. Work your choice of 3 to 5 days per week, including some Saturday mornings. There are no after-hours shifts. The practice is committed to maintaining a healthy work-life balance for all employees.

This practice offers a varied and rewarding caseload. This is a great opportunity to handle an interesting mix of cases, from routine consults to emergencies. The team also works with local wildlife and several wildlife carers and collaborates closely with Melbourne-based specialist vets for referrals when needed.

In your new role, you will work alongside experienced vets and helpful nurses in a well-equipped clinic with x-ray, digital processing, ultrasound, in-house IDEXX, IM3 dental base, dental x-ray, and more.

The employer is committed to professional growth. They encourage ongoing education with funding opportunities for continuing professional development.

A vehicle is available for work and personal use if needed.

The employer is looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic veterinarian who values building long-term relationships with clients and their pets. The ideal candidate will appreciate the practice’s community-centric approach, focusing on quality care without corporate pressures like KPIs or upselling. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude are essential as the team values collaboration. In addition, you will have a current driver’s license and reliable transportation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle a varied caseload.

The area offers a welcoming small-town feel with essential amenities nearby. The stunning Yarra Valley wineries and day spas are just 20-30 minutes away, and the town is just two hours from snowfields. Melbourne’s CBD is an easy drive away.
