An exciting opportunity is available at this RCVS-accredited 24-hour hospital and emergency clinic in the North East of England.
This role is ideal for a vet looking to work within a structured hospital environment, combining consulting, inpatient care, surgery, and emergency work within a supportive and experienced clinical team.
The successful applicant will work 21 hours per week across a defined rota:
– One weekday consulting shift (Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday)
8.5 hours (either 9 am to 6 pm or 11 am to 8 pm) Standard 30-minute sick pet consultations
– Friday hospital shift (7.5 hours)
Either inpatient care or surgery
Shift options include 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, 9 am to 5 pm, or 12:30 pm to 8:30 pm
– 1 in 4 weekends (equivalent to 5 hours per week)
ECC and emergency-only workload alongside a full clinical team
Weekend shifts run 7:30 am to 6 pm, 9:30 am to 8 pm, or 10 am to 8:30 pm
Weekends are focused on emergency and inpatient care only, working as part of a three-vet team per shift managing ECC cases, procedures, and hospital patients.
Vets with interest or experience in ophthalmology, dermatology, or feline medicine are encouraged to apply. There is the opportunity to develop these services further across a large referral network.
The hospital is well equipped with advanced diagnostics and imaging, including CT, digital radiography, ultrasound with Doppler, endoscopy, laparoscopy, in-house laboratory systems, and comprehensive monitoring and surgical equipment. The team includes experienced vets, RVNs, SVNs, VCAs, and dedicated management support within a large multidisciplinary hospital environment.
The practice is located in West Yorkshire, close to the bustling city of Leeds. Yorkshire is a beautiful part of the country and offers great transport connections from its easily accessible network of motorways and rail services.
