JOB NO: 221,914SB2

A privately owned veterinary practice in picturesque northern Tasmania has an opportunity for a veterinarian to join the team.

This busy small animal clinic is known for its vibrant culture and commitment to continuous learning. You’ll work alongside six experienced veterinarians and a team of 20 skilled and friendly support staff who are dedicated to delivering outstanding care to both clients and their pets.

The team actively fosters a supportive and enjoyable workplace, striking a great balance between professionalism and fun. You’ll enjoy a varied caseload focused on small animals, with the occasional opportunity to treat Tasmania’s unique native wildlife.

The clinic is fully equipped with high-quality diagnostic and surgical tools, including ECG, blood pressure monitoring, a Mylab ultrasound machine, Surgivet with ETCO monitoring, digital DR x-ray, dental radiography, Tonopen and endoscopy equipment.

The commitment to excellent clinical care is matched by a focus on the wellbeing and professional development of the team.

As a Lincoln Institute clinic, all veterinarians participate in a program that supports personal growth, leadership development, and long-term career satisfaction. The successful candidate will receive a salary between $80,000 – $150,000 pro rata, along with a comprehensive support package that includes VIN and CVE (Sydney University) memberships, enrolment in the Lincoln Institute Veterinary Business Program, access to the Emerging Leaders Program for all staff and one week of paid study leave each year.

To help maintain a healthy work-life balance, the practice has an after-hours emergency clinic that handles weekend and public holiday cases. On-call duties are now limited to Monday to Thursday evenings only and all after-hours calls are screened by VetChat, significantly reducing the number of callouts. Saturday shifts are shared on a 1-in-5 or 1-in-6 rotation, running from 9 am to 3 pm. Vets receive additional earnings for after-hours services.

Work visa support is available for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must be eligible to register with the Veterinary Board of Tasmania.

This role is based in a thriving regional city that offers a fantastic lifestyle. From buzzing cafes, scenic riverside parks, and excellent restaurants to snowfields, lakes, beaches, and mountains just an hour away, northern Tasmania has everything you need to make the most of your downtime.

If you are a dedicated veterinarian looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle, this could be the perfect job for you.
