An exciting opportunity is available for a veterinarian to join this privately owned, five-FTE vet practice in East Yorkshire.
The team are actively involved in the local community and aim to provide modern veterinary care with traditional values, being a truly independent practice. The directors are both clinically active vets who are thoroughly invested in practice life and keen to support the whole team to follow their individual interests.
This role would suit experienced vets or recent graduates with at least 12 months experience. There is some sole charge involved, but plenty of support available.
The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, BP monitors and all standard veterinary tools and tech. The practice is currently undergoing an expansion of its x-ray suite and clinical space.
For experienced vets, part-time hours may be negotiated. The practice uses a dedicated after-hours answering service during closed hours, diverting calls to emergency centres. The practice cares for stable in-patients after-hours. High-dependency patients are transferred to an emergency centre. Veterinary nurses are primarily responsible for after-hours care of in-patients; however, vets are on call to assist nurses who may require patient support. Calls to vets are rare after-hours.
Full time hours include the following:
– 4 weekdays per week
– 1 night on-call per week
– 2 in 5 Saturday mornings
– 1 in 5 weekends on-call
Practice opening hours:
Weekdays: 8.30 am to 7.00 pm
Saturdays: 8.30 am to 12.00 pm
Sundays: Closed
The practice places a high value on continued learning, and vets receive an annual CPD budget starting at £1000.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates.
This role is an ideal opportunity to explore the beautiful coastal areas of Yorkshire. The practice is a little over an hour’s drive from both Leeds and York, in a small seaside town. It has a charming village atmosphere.
