JOB NO: 222,850SB2

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced veterinarian to join a growing small animal team in the outskirts of Melbourne.

This role offers the chance to be part of a brand new practice. It will suit a confident, reliable vet who enjoys delivering high standards of patient and client care and would like to play a hands-on role in shaping workflow and service standards within a developing clinic.

The role will involve a broad range of general practice duties, including consultations, routine and non-routine surgery, dentistry, medical workups, radiography, anaesthesia, pathological testing, euthanasia and client communication.

You will work closely with the veterinary and nursing team, contribute to excellent client relationships and use a logical, evidence-based approach to case management. There is also the opportunity to continue building your skills, with support to learn and assist with more complicated procedures.

This position comes with a supportive, team-focused culture and a genuine emphasis on work/life balance.

A salary range of $110,000 to $150,000 is on offer, depending on experience and specialisations, along with staff discounts across health, retail, travel and fitness. The practice also provides employee wellbeing support through an EAP, generous staff pet discounts, Vet Education membership, AVA membership, access to continuing education, and support for professional development and registration.

A minimum of two years’ veterinary experience is required for this role, along with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills, sound time management and a solid understanding of health and safety within small animal practice are also important.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

The location offers a relaxed lifestyle within Melbourne’s growing northern corridor, with a strong sense of community and plenty of green space to enjoy outside work. The wider area is known for its parks, trails and outdoor spaces, walking maps, cycling paths and local reserves, perfect for an active lifestyle.
