This is a great opportunity to join a supportive, progressive, and truly independent veterinary team in a lovely part of Essex.
An independently owned small animal practice is seeking a veterinary surgeon to join the team. The practice is based in a charming market town and is privately owned by two experienced vets who are actively involved in clinical work. As a truly independent business, the team has the freedom to make clinical and operational decisions in the best interests of patients and clients.
The practice is supported by a collaborative and values-driven team culture. Clinical freedom is respected, and input from all team members is encouraged. Regular fortnightly meetings, a continuous improvement process, and a collaborative approach to case work help maintain high standards of care and professional development.
The caseload is primarily small animal, with a strong emphasis on client communication, teamwork, and compassion. Appointments are scheduled with adequate time to allow for complex cases. Standard 30-minute consultations are allocated for these, with built-in admin time included in the diary to support thoughtful case management and communication.
The practice currently employs three vets, five RVNs, three receptionists, and administrative support staff, including a dedicated insurance liaison and accountant. The client base is known for being friendly and engaged, and the team culture is upbeat and supportive.
Ongoing learning is a key part of the practice’s ethos. A broad CPD offering is available, including Central CPD On Demand, RCVS Knowledge Library access, and a well-stocked in-house library. External CPD is fully supported and funded, with the flexibility to pursue clinical interests.
