An exciting opportunity has become available for a veterinarian at a friendly practice in the Northeast of England.

You will be joining a welcoming team, led by the clinical directors and practice manager. The team include certificate holders in surgery, dentistry, imaging, cardiology and minimally invasive surgery. Vets are supported by a lovely and dedicated team of RVNs and VCAs.

This team prides itself on providing a high standard of care in a friendly environment to its lovely clients. The employers actively encourage personal development in all team members, and they try to give everyone the opportunity to expand their knowledge and learn new skills.

The practice will soon be looking to relocate the main surgery and to expand the team accordingly. There are exciting plans to include CT in the new site. The clinic is already well equipped, including ultrasound, digital and dental x-ray and endoscopy/laparoscopy.

This is a very busy and varied practice with good diary management. There are appointments set aside to ‘release on the day’ to always allow time to accommodate emergencies and sick animals alongside the pre-booked routine work. The practice runs on 20-minute appointment slots, so there is plenty of time to work cases up, communicate well with owners and write up case notes. There is also time allocated within the day to call clients with lab results or any admin that may build up throughout the day.

This is a full-time role based on a 40-hour week, incorporating 1 in 4 Saturdays with no out-of-hours. For those looking for a more flexible work/life balance, a part-time role will be considered.

The practice is looking to employ a vet with a minimum of three years of experience who is confident with both routine consults and surgery, and is also happy to work occasional sole charge.

For those seeking a more senior role, there is also an opportunity for an experienced vet, which would include mentoring the less experienced members of the team. This person should be a team player with good communication skills who is happy to sometimes deal with more challenging and difficult conversations and situations.

Benefits on offer for the successful applicant:

– 6.6 weeks paid holiday, including Bank Holidays

– CPD allowance of £1.7k

– Health Shield

– RCVS membership paid

– Up to 2 other memberships paid

– VDS cover

– Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption, shared paternity leave and surrogacy pay
