An experienced veterinarian is required for a full-time role at an independent companion animal clinic in Christchurch, New Zealand.
This friendly practice has been part of the local community for over 30 years and enjoys a loyal client base. This is a three-vet practice with support from full-time and locum nurses.
The ideal candidate will have at least four years of experience and be confident with general surgery. Support is available from a senior veterinarian who enjoys mentoring and encouraging further surgical development. This role offers a great opportunity to gain experience across all areas of diagnostics, surgery and client communication.
The clinic is well equipped with full in-house blood diagnostics, an excellent dental machine and ultrasound. The team also works with CPL, Dog Watch and Bull Breed Rescue, helping animals in need within the community.
The roster includes one-in-three Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, with no work on Sundays or public holidays. There is almost no after-hours work, allowing for a genuine work-life balance.
Continuing professional development is supported and funded, and annual practising certificate costs are covered. Applicants must be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council.
