LOCATION: South East Queensland

TYPE OF WORK: 100% Small Animal

HOURS: Full Time or Part Time

AFTER HOURS: To be discussed

SALARY: Competitive

JOB NO: 222,971SB2

Expressions of interest are welcome from veterinary specialists across all relevant small animal disciplines to join an established and expanding multidisciplinary referral hospital group in South East Queensland.

The position is open to discussion and negotiation, providing flexibility to explore a role that suits the specialist’s discipline, experience and professional goals.

The hospital group provides services across internal medicine, cardiology, surgery, oncology, critical care, dentistry, nursing and clinical support. Specialists work alongside experienced clinicians from a range of professional backgrounds, with access to a broad selection of diagnostic modalities, therapies and specialist expertise across the group.

A dedicated feline specialist hospital also operates within the organisation, providing advanced, compassionate and stress-minimised care exclusively for cats.

This opportunity would suit a specialist who values clinical excellence, teamwork and patient-centred care. The clinical culture is collaborative rather than hierarchical, with specialists sharing knowledge, supporting one another and working together on complex cases. Applicants should be comfortable managing a varied and stimulating referral caseload while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary environment.

Applicants must have completed recognised postgraduate specialist training, including a residency in a relevant small animal specialty. Suitable qualifications may include FANZCVS, DACVIM, DECVIM or equivalent certification from another recognised specialist college. Applications are welcomed from board-certified specialists and residency-trained, board-eligible clinicians.

The organisation has a strong commitment to professional development and education. It operates veterinary residency programs, internships and in-house nurse training, with a number of previous interns progressing to specialist registration. Team members also participate in professional groups, university activities and continuing education programs, and the organisation hosts its own annual veterinary conference.

South East Queensland offers an appealing balance of professional opportunity and lifestyle. The region is known for its warm climate, beaches, national parks, hinterland destinations and vibrant urban centres. With access to established infrastructure, schools and diverse communities, it can suit individuals, couples and families seeking an active yet relaxed way of life.

Ongoing professional development, academic contribution and collaboration with internationally trained specialists are supported. Relocation assistance and individually negotiated packages may also be available for outstanding international candidates.
