A production animal veterinarian is required to join a supportive four-vet team in the Waikato, New Zealand.
This is a 100% production animal role, with a caseload made up of 90% dairy work and 10% sheep, beef, goat, alpaca and deer. There is no equine or small animal work in this position, making it a great fit for a vet who enjoys working closely with production animal clients and wants to continue developing their skills in this field.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience and a strong interest in dairy cattle medicine. The team is looking for a motivated veterinarian with excellent communication skills, a professional approach and a genuine commitment to providing high-quality client service.

This full-time role includes a shared after-hours roster of 1 in 5, with one night per week and 1 in 5 weekends.
The practice offers a great remuneration package based on experience, along with time and expenses to support continuing education and professional development. You’ll also have access to a well-equipped practice with tools such as backpack scanners and InfoVet, as well as excellent support staff. Mileage will be reimbursed if you use your own vehicle, or a vehicle can be provided.
Partnership prospects are available if this is of interest. The position would suit a switched-on vet who is ready for a change to private practice, with the support and resources to grow their production animal skills.
