LOCATION: Queensland

TYPE OF WORK: 100% Porcine

HOURS: Full Time

SALARY: Commensurate with experience

JOB NO: 210,787MC

– Sun-seeking swine vet required!

– Join a practice in sub-tropical paradise.

A rare opportunity has become available for a swine veterinarian with 3+ years experience to join a large swine veterinary group.

Paradise is the beautiful state of Queensland, the ‘Sunshine State’. Your base will be in a large inland city right in the middle of hog country!

Having developed your passion for swine, you will most likely be working in pig practice or in a mixed practice servicing pig clients. You have a solid knowledge of pig health and production and are ready to make a difference in improving production performance in Australian family-run and corporate piggeries.

The business is an approved and accredited visa sponsor and offers full support for visa and relocation. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

They also offer outstanding employee benefits and an enticing salary package, plus incentives, Australian Veterinary Association membership, national vet board registration, fully maintained vehicle and are open to anything else you may need to develop your role and grow the business.

This position also offers the chance to travel interstate and a trip or two overseas to North America to expand your knowledge further.

Ideally, you will have established skills in herd health, production, diagnostics, pharmacology, data analysis, epidemiology, training, biosecurity and welfare.

You will enjoy and be challenged by working with progressive clients. You will have the support of a large veterinary team and be encouraged to develop your own area of expertise within the business and industry. As a member of a large production animal team, you will also benefit from the knowledge gained by interacting and collaborating with your peers that provide vet, nutrition and genetic services to other production animal species.

Enjoy a warm temperate climate with long warm summers and short winters. The area offers a vibrant lifestyle with plenty of cafes, restaurants, sporting and health facilities, cycling trails, wineries, shopping and exceptional schools.

Vetlink is a free service for job seekers.
