This is an opportunity for a new or recent graduate to join a rural practice that offers far more than just a job. The practice owners have built a positive and progressive workplace with a clear vision. It is a place where being a vet is fun and professionally rewarding, where the team supports one another, and where mentorship and training provide the chance to continually grow both personally and professionally.
This position will suit a new or recent graduate who can start before the end of 2026.
A good sense of humour, a love for rural practice, and the ability to build strong client relationships are all highly valued. Clients are a mix of beef and sheep producers as well as small animal owners, and the practice is proud of the excellent rapport they share with their local community.
The case load is varied and interesting. On the small animal side, there is a strong focus on preventative medicine, with the opportunity to manage a wide range of medical and surgical cases. Orthopaedics can be tackled in-house, while referral options are available for specialist care. Large animal work includes calvings, preg testing, bull testing, herd and flock health investigations, ambulatory horse work, and disease investigations, alongside a steady stream of farm accident cases. For those who enjoy variety, there is no shortage.
Support for continuing education is strong, with conference and CPD allowances provided, and additional training encouraged where areas of interest arise. A good salary package is offered, tailored to suit the individual. Memberships are paid annually, and there is a genuine focus on work-life balance to ensure long-term career satisfaction.
The after-hours roster is one in four, with plenty of support available, especially for new/recent graduates. The team prides itself on fairness, with everyone pulling their weight and no double standards.
This role offers the chance to be part of a supportive and enthusiastic team in a practice that genuinely values its veterinarians and the work they do.
