Here is a fantastic opportunity for a new graduate vet to join a supportive, privately owned mixed practice in regional Queensland.
On offer is a true mixed caseload, excellent mentoring, and a great lifestyle!
This position will start in the second half of 2026.
The practice operates across two clinics and employs a team of seven experienced and supportive veterinarians.
This role offers a balanced 50/50 split between large and small animal work, with flexibility to adjust the caseload depending on the candidate’s individual interests and career goals.
The successful applicant will be welcomed into a motivated and caring team of vets and nurses who take pride in their work, support one another and are deeply connected to their clients, from pet owners to livestock producers.
The small animal caseload is diverse, offering exposure to a broad range of medical and surgical cases. Orthopaedic surgery and canine reproductive services are performed in-house.
The large animal work includes a mix of commercial beef enterprises, stud cattle operations, small-scale feedlots and performance horse studs.
During the equine breeding season, the practice runs a dedicated equine breeding centre, providing valuable hands-on experience in semen collection, processing, and both chilled and frozen AI of mares.
Each veterinarian is provided with a fully equipped vehicle (including an inverter and fridge drawer) and a mobile phone. The clinic is well-resourced with digital x-ray, ultrasound, and a comprehensive suite of large animal equipment.
This is a full-time position, offering a four-day working week to support a healthy work-life balance. The after-hours roster is shared evenly, with a 1-in-4 rotation. The role includes one week of paid study leave per year, along with a paid AVA membership and a $1,000 allowance towards conferences or continuing veterinary education (CVE) programs.
The practice is located approximately 5.5 hours’ drive from Brisbane and 2.5 hours from a large regional centre. The surrounding region offers an excellent lifestyle with access to water sports, hiking, and other outdoor recreational activities.
This position is ideal for a new graduate seeking strong clinical support, diverse case exposure and a friendly, rural team environment to launch their veterinary career.
