A rare opportunity has become available for an experienced mixed practice veterinarian to join a 20-vet team in rural North Yorkshire. This is an independently owned, RCVS-accredited practice.
The role involves a broad mix of work with approximately 75% farm, 20% small animal, and 5% equine, and can be tailored to suit the successful applicant’s areas of interest. The practice has a strong and growing farm client base with routine fertility visits and herd health planning forming a key part of the workload.
You will be joining a friendly, supportive team, with regular in-house clinical meetings and high-calibre support staff, including qualified RVNs.
The new purpose-built premises include a spacious farm dispensary and a recently constructed small animal surgery with excellent facilities. These include two-vet and one-nurse consulting rooms, a separate large operating theatre, a large prep room, a separate room for radiography and ultrasound scanning, an isolation room, and separate cat and dog kennels. The equipment includes in-house biochemistry, critical care analysers, endoscopes, digital radiography, ultrasonography and more.
The OOH rota includes first and second calls and is shared evenly between 12 vets. There is also a nurse on duty out of hours, allowing for good support in an emergency.
Located in a small market town close to York, the practice is surrounded by spectacular countryside while still offering easy access to main roads and rail networks. Get back to nature and explore the many nearby areas of natural beauty, including the Yorkshire Moors and the Howardian Hills.
