An exciting opportunity for a veterinarian has become available at a truly mixed practice in Scotland.

This practice is looking for an experienced veterinarian to join their friendly, sociable team who pride themselves on their teamwork and supportive environment.

This is a genuinely mixed practice with a focus on work-life balance, allowing you to enjoy the nearby mountains, sea and city. Normal working hours are between 8:45 am and 5 pm over a four-day week, with 6.6 weeks annual leave per annum.

The practice offers its own out-of-hours service. The OOH rota is 1:8 (to increase when the role is filled), with the shift times being 8:45 am to 6 pm. There are two vets on call at all times, one as the primary responder and the second as additional support if required. Vets are compensated with a four-day long weekend after every weekend on call, as well as an additional mid-rota long weekend, plus additional cash benefit per out-of-hours call.

The team have a structured rota ensuring each vet a guaranteed mix of farm, equine and small animal work, with set operating days included to allow time to work up individual cases to a high standard. The practice runs on 15-minute consults in bite-sized consulting blocks as standard. The team hold weekly clinical meetings to allow for case discussion and collaboration or just a catch-up!

Vets are supported by a large team of experienced nurses. The clinic houses an excellent range of up-to-date equipment across all species, including equine and small animal video endoscopes, sector and linear ultrasound scanners for farm and equine work, high-quality small animal ultrasound, digital x-ray (including dental and mobile for equine) and more.

The ideal candidate would have an interest in all areas (farm, equine and small animal) but would have the freedom and support to build on any field that especially interests them. CPD is actively encouraged with a generous allowance and professional fees and subscriptions are paid for. A car is available if required.
