This is an opportunity to join one of the last flying veterinary practices. The practice covers a wide area servicing extensive beef properties, and the successful applicant will be given the opportunity to obtain their pilot’s licence if they wish.
The mix of work is 50% small animal, 10% equine and 40% beef cattle. Your work will be truly mixed and divided between cattle work on stations, equine medicine and reproduction and small animal medicine and surgery. Being in a country area, you will get the opportunity to tackle more complex surgical and medical cases, but you will have the option to refer when necessary.
The roster is flexible. You will be encouraged to take a morning tea break and a lunch break every day. The successful applicant will be required to work very minimal after-hours call-outs (average of 1.6 call-outs per week).
Accommodation is available as part of the salary package, or, alternatively, accommodation can be provided while you settle into the area.
Continuing education is encouraged. Vets are given a generous CE allowance.
The practice is modern and well-equipped, including digital x-ray, iM3 dental and ultrasound.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
The practice is located in an area that has a lot to offer, including four national parks. This location is the perfect opportunity for adventurers seeking new and exciting opportunities.
