Are you seeking a rewarding role that offers genuine case variety, strong team support, and strong career progression?

Join a well-established and progressive mixed practice in the Hunter Valley. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a varied caseload, strong team support and a four-day working week, all within a beautiful regional setting.

The successful vet will see a diverse caseload of approximately 80% small animal and 20% large animal work, including beef, dairy, equine and hobby farm cases. The practice offers a strong surgical caseload, with opportunities to further develop your skills, including orthopaedics if desired.

This is a full-time position worked across a four-day week, with after-hours shared among the team and well remunerated, supported by a triage service.

You will be part of a collaborative and experienced team where there is always someone available for a second opinion and shared case management.

The successful applicant will be confident managing cases independently while also enjoying a collaborative team environment. Strong communication and client relationship skills are important, along with an interest in both medical and surgical work. The practice is keen to support a vet who wants to continue developing their clinical knowledge and capabilities further.

Remuneration ranges from $90,000 to $140,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience (plus potential after hours payments of up to $15,000). The role also includes a $10,000 sign-on bonus, payment of registration fees, $1,000 towards annual professional memberships and paid parental leave in addition to government entitlements. Eligible candidates may also qualify for assistance with HECS debt.

The practice combines the benefits of a well-established hospital with a modern, growing clinic environment. It is purpose-built and well equipped with tools, including ultrasound, digital radiography, in-house lab facilities, and dental and orthopaedic equipment.

Located in the Hunter Valley, this role offers the chance to enjoy a relaxed regional lifestyle with easy access to major centres. The area features vibrant local communities, excellent amenities and is surrounded by renowned vineyards and dining experiences. With Sydney within reach and the Newcastle coastline close by, the region offers an ideal balance of work and lifestyle.
