A growing rural practice is seeking an experienced mixed practice veterinarian to join their friendly, community-orientated team on a full-time basis.
This role is ideal for a vet with three or more years’ experience who is confident working independently and enjoys a broad, hands-on caseload.
The position offers a genuinely varied mix of work, including companion animals, sheep, deer, lifestyle blocks and some dairy. An interest in deer work would be highly regarded.
You’ll be working alongside experienced veterinarians and a skilled vet tech, with support available, although some sole charge will be required at times. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys rural mixed practice and values diversity in their day-to-day work.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The clinic is well-equipped with IDEXX in-house machines, ultrasound and an x-ray machine with an automatic processor.
A continuing education allowance is provided to support ongoing professional development.
Located in a close-knit small town in the Canterbury region, the practice is approximately 30 minutes from the breathtaking Lake Tekapo. The area is well known for its outdoor lifestyle, with easy access to ski fields, camping, water sports and scenic walking tracks. Local amenities include schools, shops, restaurants and leisure facilities, making this an excellent option for those wanting to enjoy everything the South Island has to offer while working in a rewarding rural role.
