JOB NO: 222,586MC1

Vetlink is recruiting emergency and critical care veterinarians to join a brand-new emergency and referral hospital opening in March 2026 in Melbourne’s northern corridor. This is a rare opportunity to be part of the foundation team of a purpose-built ECC hospital, helping shape clinical standards, workflows and culture from day one within an integrated service model delivering general practice, emergency and referral care.

The hospital has been designed specifically for emergency and critical care, with modern workflows that support efficient triage, diagnostics and treatment. You will be working alongside skilled ECC nurses, experienced veterinary colleagues and strong support staff, with clear clinical protocols and access to broader professional support. The focus is on collaboration, open communication and shared responsibility, ensuring high-quality, timely care for patients while supporting the wellbeing of the team.

Flexible working arrangements are available, including full-time, part-time and casual roles. Rosters include a mix of overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts, with a strong emphasis on protective scheduling and sustainable workloads. Casual ECC positions are also available, ideal for veterinarians balancing emergency work with other professional or personal commitments. Permanent employees have access to a comprehensive wellbeing and development offering, including paid leave, funded memberships, study leave and structured emergency training to support career growth as an ECC clinician.

This role would suit experienced ECC veterinarians as well as general practice vets who are keen to develop their emergency skills. Applicants should be comfortable with sole charge, supported by experienced ECC nurses, and bring a calm, team-first approach with a strong commitment to patient welfare and clear communication.

The area offers an appealing lifestyle for those seeking balance between work and life. Located in Melbourne’s northern growth corridor, the area combines a peaceful, semi-rural feel with convenient access to the city. Locals enjoy parks, walking trails and a strong community atmosphere, while remaining close to major shopping centres, schools and transport links, making it an excellent option for both families and professionals.

Vetlink is a free service for job seekers.
