TWO POSITIONS ARE AVAILABLE!

An opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic veterinarian to join a multi-vet team.

The position offers variety, a great team environment and plenty of support.

Whether you like to focus on consults or dentals or perhaps enjoy orthopaedics, this employer will help you grow and progress in your area of choice. Continuing professional development is actively encouraged and supported.

With a very experienced nursing team of 10, you will have the support and care you need to get the job done right.

The clinic is shiny and new after a significant extension, with all the bells and whistles. It houses surgical operating rooms, modern dental machines, large treatment rooms, multiple consult rooms, x-ray machine, auto-processor, SA ultrasound set up, endoscope, Vetscan, Dopplers and pulse ox.

A relocation allowance is provided, veterinary registration paid and staff discounts applied for companion animals. A work vehicle, laptop and phone are provided, plus six weeks of accommodation provided on arrival (if relocating). Plus, there is plenty of ‘food for good,’ when on the go – fruit, nibbles, and snacks to keep you going!

The salary offered is $110,000+ per annum, depending on experience. The employer also makes a contribution to wellbeing activities (some people have bought ski passes with their portion, others join the gym or do a photography course!).

The area is rich in wildlife, art and history, with plenty of character and a warm and friendly atmosphere. There is an excellent range of shops, lively bars and restaurants.

12/3/2020 Comments from a locum vet: The practice was excellent. They were a very friendly team. There was excellent support. They provided excellent mentoring for medicine cases. There was an excellent nurse to vet ratio. It was a very well equipped clinic. I was on-call one in five weekends, and one weekday, the on-call work was not very taxing. The roster is really accommodating. There were usually 3 to 4 vets in the clinic at once, plus the large animal vets would come and go. There was a mix of new grads and experienced vets. CPD in NZ is fairly strict, all the vets were enrolled in various ongoing university courses. I would highly recommend this practice to new graduates, very supportive. There were a lot of things to do in the area I was in. I could easily drive to Queenstown and other amazing locations. I felt safe. I stayed in a house owned by one of the vets, he was only there for half of the time. It was only a two-minute drive to the clinic. There were a lot of excellent amenities close by. I would definitely return for further work with The practice.

12/3/2020 Comments from an equine locum vet: The job with the clinic was absolutely amazing! It was the best job I’ve ever had.
