A practice on New Zealand’s North Island is seeking to employ an equine veterinarian to lead its enthusiastic team.
The successful applicant will be an equine clinician with a passion for the equine industry and experience with sport and recreation horses primarily. The equine work is predominantly ambulatory, but the clinic can also receive clients on site, where there is an equine crush and yarding/paddock facilities.
Strong time management and interpersonal skills are important, as you will be building relationships with clients and providing a professional, high-standard service.
The role also includes participation in a shared equine after-hours roster with a neighbouring clinic, along with race day work as required.
The multi-vet team is made up of equine and production animal veterinarians supported by a skilled business support team.
In return, the practice can offer you:
– Training and support, with opportunities for developing your skills in a range of areas.
– A friendly, professional and family-oriented practice.
– Support to learn and develop your own ideas.
– Great community spirit with plenty of local activities.
– A competitive remuneration package based on ability and experience.
The practice is well-equipped with diagnostic tools that include endoscopy, recently upgraded ultrasound and digital x-ray. The practice has also recently upgraded its equine dental equipment, including HDE Polyfloat, dental oroscope and HDE intra-oral extraction kit.
The practice is located close to an array of cafes and dining options. The city is bordered by spectacular mountain ranges and close to a gorge, making a unique landscape that offers mountains to sea, city to countryside, all in the same day.
