An opportunity is available for an associate veterinarian to join a busy small animal clinic on the northwestern outskirts of Melbourne.
This full-time role would suit a caring and collaborative vet with at least three years’ experience who enjoys a mix of consulting and surgery, values team support and is passionate about delivering high-quality care to pets and their owners.
The clinic operates Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. The role offers genuine work-life balance, with rotating Saturdays, no Sundays, no public holidays, no on-call and no after-hours work.
The successful vet will report to a business manager who is also a veterinary professional and will receive mentoring from a highly engaged vet general manager focused on high standards of care and smooth clinic operations.
The role involves managing medical cases from consults through to follow-ups, performing routine and non-routine surgeries suited to your experience and skill level, building strong client relationships, contributing to a positive clinic culture and supporting the ongoing growth and success of the clinic. This is a great fit for a vet who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and wants to keep developing clinically while being supported by experienced leadership.
The clinic has room for development and growth in the caseload it currently manages, with new client enquiries received weekly. Facilities include a spacious reception and waiting area, two consult rooms, a sterile operating theatre, X-ray, dental X-ray and equipment for in-house pathology. The team also receives regular visits from medical and surgical specialists, allowing them to manage a broad range of cases while working closely with nearby hospitals for referrals and overnight stays.
Remuneration is negotiable depending on experience. The role also offers a rewarding, uncapped performance-based profit-share structure, staff discounts, birthday leave, ongoing training and career growth, study leave, continuing education allowances and hands-on support from a highly engaged leadership team. The clinic also offers a convenient local location with ample onsite parking and a supportive, family-friendly team that understands the balance between personal and professional life.
The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
Located on Melbourne’s northwestern outskirts, this area offers the convenience of suburban living with access to local shops, services, parks and community facilities. The region offers a wide range of parks, leisure spaces, walking areas, playgrounds and family-friendly outdoor amenities, while still keeping Melbourne within reach for city dining, events and weekend plans.
