A busy small animal clinic in Melbourne’s south-east is seeking an associate veterinarian to join their friendly and supportive team. The position offers flexibility, with the option to work part-time at one clinic or full-time across two nearby clinics within the same veterinary network.
This role provides the opportunity to enjoy a varied general practice caseload including consultations, surgery, dentistry, diagnostics and preventative care. You will be supported by an experienced nursing team and an approachable business manager who is also a veterinary professional, helping to ensure the clinic runs smoothly while maintaining a strong focus on patient care.
The clinic is modern and well equipped with two consult rooms, a sterile operating theatre, digital X-ray and in-house pathology equipment. Visiting medical and surgical specialists attend regularly, allowing the team to manage a wide range of cases while maintaining strong referral relationships with nearby hospitals for more complex procedures or overnight care.
You will also benefit from support across the wider veterinary network, including guidance from an experienced leadership team who are focused on maintaining high clinical standards and providing ongoing professional development opportunities. The team prides itself on creating a welcoming workplace where professionalism is balanced with teamwork, support and a genuine love of animals.
The roster supports excellent work-life balance, with the clinic operating Monday to Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm. There are rotating Saturdays, with no Sundays, public holidays, on-call work or after-hours requirements. For those working part-time at a single clinic, there may occasionally be periods of sole charge, although support from the wider network is always available.
Additional benefits include staff discounts across associated pet retail and grooming services, birthday leave, study leave and continuing education allowances, along with ongoing training and development supported by a broader leadership team.
Located in Melbourne’s growing south-east, the clinic sits within a busy retail precinct with easy access and ample parking. The area offers a diverse food scene, vibrant community and plenty of parks and recreation areas to enjoy outside of work, while still providing convenient access to central Melbourne and surrounding suburbs.
The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
