A position for a mixed practice veterinarian has become available in the Canterbury Plains on New Zealand’s South Island.
The practice is seeking a passionate, experienced and motivated vet to join the team on a full-time basis.
The team provide an extensive range of veterinary services to dairy clients, as well as other production animals, working dogs and companion animals.
In your new role, you will further develop as a veterinarian and gain experience by working on your own cases and having key clients. You will work with plenty of mentoring from other highly experienced veterinarians. Over time, developing in the management space and learning all about the behind-the-scenes parts of a veterinary business is also an option if that is of interest to you.
The salary offered is $110,000+ per annum, depending on experience. CPD is actively encouraged and the employer also makes a contribution to wellbeing activities (some people have bought ski passes with their portion, others join the gym or do a photography course!).
A relocation allowance is provided, veterinary registration paid and staff discounts applied for companion animals. A work vehicle, laptop and phone are provided, plus six weeks of accommodation provided on arrival (if relocating). Plus, there is plenty of ‘food for good,’ when on the go – fruit, nibbles, and snacks to keep you going!
A bit about the role:
– Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week
– Shared on-call roster between a team of 8 vets
– Dairy and small animal focus, plus general farm veterinary work
– Great flexibility and work/life balance with a time in lieu system
The employers really value their team, who love what they do, making sure they get the job done right, always being one step ahead, and in it together.
This practice is an industry-leading animal health provider. If you would enjoy a role where no day is the same, with plenty of support and opportunity to grow, and a great team environment, then we would love to hear from you.
The practice is located in a scenic rural town. There is a purpose-built lake close by, popular with waterskiers, dragon boaters and other watersport enthusiasts. It is a popular resting place for visitors who are keen to sample the town’s food and crafts. Christchurch can be reached in 40 minutes by car.
