An experienced veterinarian is required to join a well-established, high-quality ASAVA-accredited practice located in the southern suburbs of Adelaide.

This is a rare opportunity to become part of a large and supportive team that includes 12 vets, many of whom have been with the practice for five to ten years or more. The practice supports a varied caseload of medical, surgical, emergency and rehabilitation cases. The team includes vets with advanced skills in areas such as surgery, medicine, emergency, imaging, dentistry, wildlife and feline medicine.

The successful applicant will enjoy an excellent work-life balance with a flexible full-time roster. A typical fortnight includes a nine-day roster with one surgery shift, one consulting shift, two shorter afternoon shifts, and one weekend day shift per fortnight. Shifts are structured to include 1.5 to 2 hours of paid time for case management, phone calls and write-ups, as well as a paid 40-minute meal break. Overtime is rare but is paid when required, and professional fees are covered.

Veterinarians are supported by a skilled and passionate nursing team that provides excellent hands-on support and client care. The practice is committed to staff wellbeing and offers access to an on-site mental health first-aider, external performance coaching, and an employee assistance program.

A competitive salary of $90,000 to $130,000 is on offer, depending on experience and skill set, plus superannuation. Additional benefits include VSBSA registration, EPA radiation licence and VIN membership, as well as staff discounts and quarterly Hill’s pet food. A generous CPD allowance is provided, and the practice also hosts regular internal CPD and case discussion nights to support ongoing learning and collaboration.

Experienced overseas applicants are welcome to apply. Assistance with visas, accommodation and a vehicle may be available. Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of South Australia.

The practice is modern and well-equipped with CT, fluoroscopy, CR digital X-ray, surgical laparoscopy, colour flow Doppler ultrasound, video endoscopy, bronchoscopy, a full IDEXX in-house laboratory, ECG, capnography, blood pressure monitors, IV infusion and syringe pumps, and a full dental suite.

Adelaide is consistently ranked as one of the most liveable cities in the world, with vibrant arts, food, sport and cultural events throughout the year. The practice is located within easy reach of the CBD, beautiful beaches, and world-renowned wine regions. This position offers a genuine opportunity to enjoy an outstanding lifestyle while working in a dynamic and supportive veterinary environment.
