Anaesthetist required at a full-service equine hospital in New South Wales.
This full-time permanent role would suit a veterinarian with solid equine anaesthesia experience who is looking to step into a leadership position within a high-level referral and surgical environment.
Experience in equine anaesthesia is necessary, and experience in small animal anaesthesia is advantageous. Preference would be given for a board certified or board qualified anaesthetist.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of experienced anaesthetists, surgeons, medicine specialists, technicians, nurses and horse handlers at a purpose-built surgical facility with a dedicated anaesthesia department. The hospital’s vision is to be the best at patient care, the best at client relationships and the best place to work.
The position includes a shared after-hours roster of approximately 1:4. In return, the employer offers an attractive salary package, professional indemnity insurance, generous CPD and study leave, flexible paid working arrangements during periods of reduced caseload, strong administrative and business support and more.
The hospital offers specialist reproductive services, surgery and intensive care with comprehensive on-farm reproductive and general services. They also provide a sports medicine service to equine clients in the region.
The practice has a fully equipped equine surgery with a hydraulic surgical table, two large and two small anaesthetic units, video arthroscopy and endoscopy, ECG, direct and indirect blood pressure monitors, oximetry and capnography. It is a modern and purpose-built hospital with two sterile theatres, a large transfer area and four recovery stalls.
The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
