A brand-new, purpose-built emergency and critical care hospital in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne is seeking an experienced senior ECC veterinarian to step into a leadership role. This is a full-time position suited to a clinician who is ready to take on greater responsibility, help shape clinical culture, and mentor and support the broader ECC team alongside delivering high-quality emergency and critical care.
The hospital has been purpose-built for fast, seamless triage, diagnostics and treatment, with modern workflow design and a well-equipped ECC setting. You will work alongside skilled ECC nurses and experienced colleagues, with clear clinical protocols and access to broader group support. The service has been designed with staff wellbeing in mind, offering protective rosters, supportive nursing structures, and leaders who listen.
The salary on offer is $150,000 to $220,000 depending on skills and experience, with the expectation that a candidate of this seniority would be placed toward the upper end of that range. A generous CPD allowance is included, along with one week of paid study leave. Professional support includes VSB registration assistance, a VetEducation membership and $1,000 towards memberships and subscriptions of your choice. Additional benefits include paid parental leave (on top of the government scheme), five days paid volunteer leave, an Employee Assistance Program, staff pet discounts, and retail and gym discounts.
Melbourne’s outer northern suburbs offer a semi-rural lifestyle with easy access to the city. Local parks, walking trails and a strong community feel make it a great base, while schools, shopping and transport links are all close by.
The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
