JOB NO: 200,012SP

An opportunity has become available for a veterinarian to join a team in a BestPractice accredited veterinary clinic on New Zealand’s North Island.

The employers are looking for a well-rounded mixed practitioner with at least two years of practical experience in large or mixed animal work to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee and grow the companion animal clinic while still engaging in farm work, primarily focusing on dairy cattle, with some sheep and beef.

This is an opportunity to work within a supportive environment and assist in developing the companion animal clinic. You will become part of a close-knit team of three experienced farm vets. Whether you already have experience in companion animal care or are eager to learn, you will be supported in your growth with training and development.

The ideal applicant will bring their expertise in dairy medicine to the team. Your skills in dairy cattle medicine will be highly valued, supported by the team’s knowledge in mastitis, reproduction and nutrition. You will have a proactive approach and will have the chance to lead and develop the companion animal side of the clinic with plenty of support and resources. As a confident communicator, you will build strong relationships with your clients, including farmers and pet owners.

The practice is offering a competitive salary package, including a 4×4 double cab ute, a generous on-call roster, and ongoing mentoring from an experienced veterinary team. The practice prides itself on being a progressive practice, offering significant career progression opportunities to the right people.

The practice is centrally located in the Waikato region, along the Waikato River. It is within commuting distance of Auckland and Hamilton. The location will allow you to enjoy both the tranquillity of rural life and the amenities of the city.
