An exciting opportunity has become available for a production animal veterinarian to join a clinic in the Canterbury Region. This role is well-suited to a vet with two or more years of experience.
The caseload is 100% production animals, with a strong focus on dairy.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work in a large group of practices, exchange ideas with multiple veterinarians, and contribute to the continued growth of the large animal side of the business. After-hours is covered by the Christchurch emergency clinic, with the option to provide back-up support. Production animal on-call is rostered separately.
The clinic is purpose-built, well-equipped and computerised, with facilities including IDEXX, endoscope, laparoscope, ultrasound and x-ray with automatic processor. Veterinary technicians are available to assist with work such as pregnancy testing and reproductive procedures, while an experienced nursing team provides further support in daily practice. Clinic hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
The practice is located in a scenic rural town with a purpose-built lake nearby, popular for waterskiing, dragon boating and other water sports. The town is also well known for its food and crafts, making it a popular stop for visitors. Christchurch can be reached in just 40 minutes by car, offering easy access to the city while enjoying the benefits of a welcoming rural community.
