An experienced veterinary nurse is required for a permanent position in coastal South Australia. This is a hands-on role for a confident nurse who enjoys using a broad range of clinical skills and would like to combine rewarding veterinary work with a relaxed coastal lifestyle.
The practice sees a genuinely varied caseload, including companion animals, horses, livestock and native wildlife. The team consists of three vets and 12 support staff, giving nurses the opportunity to be involved across a wide range of cases and make full use of their nursing skills.
The clinic is well equipped with in-house pathology, digital radiography, ultrasound, a fully equipped surgical suite and modern hospital facilities. The successful nurse will be involved in hospital nursing and patient monitoring, surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring, emergency and critical care support, inpatient treatment, client education and communication, and maintaining high clinical standards.
The position is available for three to four days per week, or approximately 24 to 32 hours, with hours negotiable for the right person. The on-call roster is one week in five, with an on-call allowance included. Above-award pay is offered and will be negotiated according to experience.
Applicants should have proven surgical and hospital nursing experience. Strong clinical skills, good product knowledge and confident communication with both clients and colleagues are important. The practice is looking for someone adaptable and positive who is genuinely interested in becoming part of a close-knit community.
