An independently owned veterinary group in Melbourne’s northern suburbs is seeking an experienced veterinarian with an interest in ultrasound or internal medicine to join its supportive team.
This is a great opportunity for a vet who enjoys investigating interesting medical cases, developing their diagnostic skills and working collaboratively with experienced colleagues. The position would suit a veterinarian with well-developed skills in ultrasound or internal medicine who is confident working independently in these areas and keen to continue developing their expertise.
This position can be permanent full or part time with a minimum of 2 shifts per week, with the average shift being 8 am – 6 pm.
The group operates across three clinics, including a 24/7 veterinary hospital and emergency centre. General practice and emergency clinicians work closely together, providing opportunities to manage an interesting and varied caseload with support from experienced veterinary and nursing teams.
The hospital regularly sees cases involving trauma, foreign bodies, pericardial effusion, toxicities including snake envenomation, oncology and referrals. This provides an interesting clinical environment for a veterinarian who enjoys investigating cases, working through diagnoses and developing their medical knowledge.
Facilities include extensive in-house laboratory facilities, ultrasound, endoscopy and comprehensive surgical and hospital facilities. The team also benefits from the support of a Canine Medical Specialist.
The practice offers a competitive, negotiable salary based on experience and skills. Other benefits include five weeks of annual leave, annual conference and CPD leave, mentoring from experienced veterinarians and opportunities to further develop clinical skills.
The practice is located approximately 40 minutes from Melbourne’s CBD. It is located on a tram line and is within easy walking distance of local shops and cafes.
