An exciting opportunity has become available for a veterinarian at a mixed practice in regional Victoria.
Both new graduates and experienced vets are welcome to apply.
You’ll be joining 4 other experienced vets as the fifth member of their team.
The role involves an interesting mix of small and large animal work. Duties include performing consultations, diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, conducting surgery, performing diagnostic imaging, and providing preventative healthcare. The veterinarian will also be responsible for communicating with clients, maintaining medical records, and participating in the after-hours roster.
The large animal caseload primarily consists of routine equine work, with some beef cattle, alpaca, and sheep cases.
The clinic is purpose-built and well-equipped with digital x-ray, IM3 digital dental x-ray, IDEXX, pulse oximeter, capnograph, IV infusion pumps, ultrasound, and a dental machine. The practice operates using Vision VPM software.
Shifts are typically 8 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday, with a four-day work week and a one-hour lunch break each shift. There is a 1 in 5 Saturday rotation. After-hours are shared and nurses are rostered on after-hours for support.
The employer is offering a salary starting at $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, up to $150,000 for an experienced veterinarian.
The practice is located close to the Grampians and wineries, offering excellent opportunities for bushwalking, climbing, and horse riding. The town is only an hour from large rural centres.
