JOB NO: 209,835SB2

A privately owned small animal practice within easy reach of Hobart is seeking a veterinarian to join their friendly and supportive team on a full-time or part-time basis. This is a clinic with a genuine commitment to gold-standard patient care, where clinical standards matter and teamwork is highly valued. They are looking for a vet who takes pride in their work, enjoys building relationships with clients and colleagues, and wants to be part of a positive, down-to-earth workplace.

The caseload is predominantly small animal, with the occasional chicken, goat or sheep adding a bit of variety. You’ll be well supported by an experienced nursing team, with two nurses allocated to each vet daily, as well as additional hospital nurses. The team works closely together, values open communication and enjoys a laugh along the way, all while maintaining a strong professional focus.

The clinic operates from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm Monday to Friday and 9:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays and public holidays, and there are no after-hours duties. The position offers flexibility, with hours able to be tailored to suit the right applicant, making it a great option for those seeking balance alongside a rewarding clinical role.

The remuneration package is generous, with a base salary of $80,000 to $150,000 for a full-time position, commensurate with clinical expertise, plus a performance-linked bonus scheme paid quarterly.

A $5000 study allowance is provided for a full-time position. AVA, VIN, Plumbs, VetCT and VetNotes subscriptions are included, and veterinary board registration fees are covered.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12 months of clinical experience, excellent communication skills and a warm bedside manner. However, confident new graduates will also be considered. You’ll enjoy working both independently and as part of a team, and you’ll be motivated to contribute to a clinic culture that values high standards of care and looking after one another.

Located in a rapidly growing area just outside Hobart, this role offers easy access to the city while being close to some of Tasmania’s most beautiful coastal scenery. With walking trails, beaches, wineries, markets and a strong local community, it’s an appealing place to build your career while enjoying a relaxed, outdoors-focused lifestyle.

The employer is willing to assist with a work visa (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates with at least 2 years of clinical experience. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
