An independent ASAVA-accredited hospital close to Melbourne's CBD has a current vacancy for a general manager to support their team.

The ideal applicant will have prior management experience or qualifications in business management, veterinary management, HR or a related field.

As general manager, you will understudy the practice owner's role and provide cover when the practice owner is not present. Key elements of the role include conducting informal staff reviews, liaising with HR, writing and managing rosters, managing KPIs, monitoring costs, holding regular staff meetings and overseeing the day to day running of the practice.

The practice is seeking a motivated and proactive individual with exceptional communication and organisational skills. Candidates should also be compassionate, warm, and enjoy leading by example.

This busy 13-vet (8 full time equivalent) practice operates out of a renovated building with a large purpose-built surgery. The hospital is well equipped with digital x-ray machine, ultrasound, endoscope, laryngoscope, IM3 dental machines (including dental x-ray capabilities and vet tomes), blood analysis machines, pulse oximeter, blood pressure monitor, anaesthetic monitoring equipment and more. The computer software used at the practice is Vetlink Pro.
