Are you a dedicated and experienced veterinarian with a passion for leadership? Do you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and have a knack for managing both routine and emergency consultations? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

A state-of-the-art veterinary hospital located in inner Melbourne is seeking a dynamic and experienced veterinarian to join their team as the Head of Clinic.

As the Head of Clinic, you will be at the forefront of veterinary care, overseeing both booked and non-booked (accident and emergency) consultations. This front-of-house role involves managing GP and A&E consultations and the team that provides them, ensuring the highest standards of care. While familiarity with ECC work is advantageous, it is not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical consulting work in the GP and A & E departments. No surgical work is required.

2. Practice leadership, including supervising and supporting veterinary staff to foster a cohesive and effective team environment.

3. Maintaining clinical competencies and standards and overseeing the creation of practice protocols.

4. Performance management of staff to maintain quality standards at the practice.

Working Conditions:

Four-day workweek, including one day dedicated to administrative work and three days for consultations (GP and/or A&E).

One late shift per week (10 am – 8:30 pm).

No after-hours.

Weekend rota to be confirmed.

Prior experience in a senior veterinary position is essential. At least 7 years of clinical experience will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will also have strong supervisory skills with a demonstrated management and leadership background.

This role will allow you to work alongside highly skilled and experienced veterinarians and vet nurses in a contemporary facility.

The practice is extremely well-equipped, with a CT scanner, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, x-ray, electrocardiogram, tonopen IOP, cryopen, doppler, SurgiVet monitoring equipment and more.

Enjoy pet-friendly workplace policies, flexible rostering hours and well-being support.

The hospital is located in North Melbourne, offering easy access to the CBD, a vibrant arts and food scene, historic charm, public amenities, efficient transportation, employment opportunities, and affordable housing.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates.

If you are a dedicated veterinarian looking for a leadership role in a cutting-edge facility, we encourage you to apply. Join a team that values excellence in veterinary care and supports your professional growth.
