An opportunity has become available for a veterinarian to become the sixth vet on the team at this independently owned practice in Queensland’s stunning Whitsunday region.
This practice believes that vets need to concentrate on vet things, and, when there is downtime, develop systems to help improve patient care, team skills and ideas to help their clients understand the value of the service they are providing.

The level of support you will receive in your new role will be tailored to you and your experience level. You will have an open line of communication throughout your career here. This practice will support you with a high support staff to vet ratio, consult nurses who build rapport with clients, consult notes, estimate delivery, client updates, etc.
The employer invests in the team’s growth, offering traditional CE offers such as conferences, as well as hiring external professionals and experts to help with workshops in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and imaging.
Communication within this team is vital. They make the time to check in on each other frequently so that staff can air any wins or challenges in a private one-on-one setting. The practice strives to get the team together as much as possible, whether that’s dinner, Friday night footy invites or rodeos. The team believe in celebrating wins together, whether it’s a trainee’s first catheter placement or a new graduate’s first tooth removal, the small wins eventually add up to the big win of happiness and achievement in your career.
Experienced vets can expect a salary of up to $145,000 per annum plus super. After-hours duties are currently 1 in 3, but this may decrease to 1 in 5 or 6 in the near future. After-hours comes with additional pay and, on average, adds an additional $12,000 to $15,000 per annum to your salary.
