A full-time or permanent part-time position is available at an amazing mixed practice on the beautiful South Coast of New South Wales! This role has great working hours, a strong support team, and many professional development opportunities.

The caseload is diverse, consisting of 90% small animal and 10% large animal, allowing vets to gain experience in an array of fields. The large animal work is mostly horses, cattle, goats and alpacas. However, a 100% small animal role could also be accommodated.

Both experienced veterinarians and new/recent graduates are welcome to apply. New/recent graduates will be supported by experienced vets while undertaking a mentoring program to provide you with the support needed to really develop your career.

The senior veterinary professionals at the practice have a combined experience of over 50 years. Their dedication and passion for the field is evident through their caring nature and commitment to mentoring and training their colleagues. The dynamic, fun-loving five-vet team are friendly, committed and always open to new ideas. They place a strong focus on delivering high standards of medicine and surgery. This progressive practice sees a wide range of cases in house, providing opportunities for those wanting to gain experience in orthopaedics, complex soft tissue surgery, advanced medical treatments and chemotherapy, just to name a few. Vets are very well-supported with a high nurse-to-vet ratio. Special interests are fostered through a collaborative environment and supported with continuing education.

On offer is a great work-life balance. The clinic is open from 8 am – 5:30 pm on weekdays, and 9 am – 12 pm on Saturdays. Full-time vets usually work four weekdays and an occasional Saturday morning shift. The weekend on-call and after-hours roster are shared 1:4. After hours is triaged by an outside company, meaning only true emergencies are seen during after hours, and backup is always available if required.

The practice is well-equipped with modern equipment including x-ray, ultrasound, endoscope, IDEXX machine, IM3 dental, Bair Hugger, equine dentistry power float and all the large animal equipment expected. The surgical suite is well-stocked with all routine equipment, as well as an orthopaedics kit. The practice uses Vision VPM.

Additional perks include 5 days paid volunteer leave, VSB registration and assistance with relocation and finding accommodation.

The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable experienced overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
