The hospital was recently purpose-built and has all the equipment and facilities to practise high-quality veterinary medicine.
The caseload has a mainly small animal bias, with a wide array of both surgical and medical cases. The facilities allow for thorough work-ups with digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, in-house laboratory. There are also high-quality surgeries and orthopaedic equipment available for both routine and more advanced surgery.
They also see routine equine work, including colics, geldings, lameness work-ups and stitch-ups. The practice also has equine facilities on site. This includes undercover stabling, two crushes, equine scales and knockdown and recovery rooms. There are also equine holding paddocks.
Vets are well-supported by excellent full and part-time nursing and support staff. There is a strong emphasis on the discussion of cases during daily rounds. The job could suit someone looking for the diversity of mixed practice or someone looking to focus on a more specific area of veterinary medicine, given the high caseload.
Continuing education and special interests are encouraged.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
