A full-time veterinary nurse position is currently available at a practice in the South West of Western Australia. The hospital is seeking an experienced and qualified vet nurse to join its team.

The clinic provides services for small animals, equine, and cattle patients. The clinic has fully equipped examination rooms, diagnostic machines (including mobile digital x-rays, ultrasonography, ECG, in-house blood machines, and laboratory facilities), and pharmaceutical stores, the practice offers on-the-spot assistance for nearly all pet health and medical needs.

The practice currently employs 2.5 vets, 3 qualified vet nurses, and 1 trainee vet nurse.

The hospital is looking for a caring, compassionate, and competent vet nurse to assist in providing the highest level of treatment and care for patients.

The ideal candidate:

– Holds a certificate IV qualification as a registered veterinary nurse with at least 2 years of experience since qualification.

– Possesses a wide range of nursing skills and knowledge, including the ability to place catheters, take bloods, perform every aspect of surgery preparation, anaesthetic monitoring, post-op care, and care for hospitalized patients.

– Is confident enough to work independently but also willing to work as part of a team.

– Has excellent communication skills and experience with all aspects of reception work.

– Experience with Vetlink management software is desirable but not essential.

The hours for this role are 76 hours per fortnight, with 1 in 3 Saturdays required.

The salary for this position ranges from $55,000 to $70,000, depending on experience.
