An opportunity is available for a qualified vet nurse to join a friendly, fast-growing practice in beautiful North West Tasmania.

This family-owned, three-vet practice is supported by a dedicated, enthusiastic, and fun-loving team of nurses. As the practice prepares to expand to four vets to meet increasing client demand, they’re now looking for another nurse to join the team and support the new vet.

The clinic is based in a small township near a larger regional centre. It’s a fantastic area to live and raise a family, with a wide range of public and private schools available. Melbourne is just a one-hour flight away, and the local airport is only 15 minutes from the clinic. The region is known for its natural beauty, with easy access to rainforests, Cradle Mountain, the rugged West Coast, and plenty of opportunities for bushwalking, fishing, biking, and other outdoor activities. It offers the best of country living with the convenience of a small city close by.

The team values collaboration, learning, and a supportive work environment that reflects their strong family-oriented culture.

Although the practice is mixed, the nurses are based in the small animal clinic, with some involvement in booking large animal calls and dispensing medications.

Clinic hours are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend clinic.

The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities, including:

– In-house lab (Vet Scan biochemistry, Abaxis haematology, digital slide scanner and pathology

– BCF Mindray6 ultrasound

– Orthopaedic kit with cordless Milwaukee drill

– Digital x-ray and table with built-in plate

– IM3 dental machine and x-ray

– Multiple anaesthetic machines and full monitoring equipment

The ideal candidate will be an experienced vet nurse available for full-time work, though part-time applicants will also be considered. After-hours callouts and surgeries are shared equally among the nursing team, with financial support provided for after-hours shifts.

Package includes:

– Well above award wages (dependent on experience)
