A qualified and proactive Veterinary Technician is required to assist the farm services team of a well-established, mixed practice clinic in the Waikato Region.
The position will involve a range of tasks, including calf debudding, blood sampling, capsuling, vaccinations, animal weighing and on-farm data collection (e.g. welfare monitoring, lameness scoring and tail scoring). Initially, this role will be for a fixed term of six months, with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.
This is a physically demanding role, so the practice requires a positive, physically fit person who can work well under pressure, with good animal handling skills, especially with cattle.
The role will also involve contacting clients to schedule in the work, so you’ll need to be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills and have the ability to interact in a positive way with the clients. You may also be required to cover the customer service team from time to time, so good computer skills are essential.
If you have a warm and friendly manner, strong attention to detail and can contribute positively to a team focused on meeting the needs of their customers, then please contact Vetlink for further information.
SHOULD YOU WISH TO ENQUIRE OR APPLY FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
– You must hold a Diploma in Veterinary Nursing or an equivalent qualification.
– You must have a minimum of two years of paid, full-time experience as a veterinary nurse.
