A great opportunity has become available for a fully qualified and experienced veterinary nurse at a privately owned practice in the Waikato region.

The hours are 8 am to 5 pm with no weekend work or after-hours required. There is flexibility for the role to be full-time or part-time.

The independent, 6-vet practice works closely together to provide optimum services for their clients. The employer puts staff health, safety and well-being first, leading to a happy, relaxed and cohesive workplace.

Some of your responsibilities will included:

- Providing effective support to veterinarians in all aspects of veterinary nursing, including animal handling, anaesthetic monitoring, surgical and inpatient nursing, and barrier nursing.

- Stock control and equipment maintenance, client consults and preventative nursing programmes.

The practice employs a cleaning assistant who is available in the afternoons to assist with kennel duties.

The ideal candidate must:

- Work well individually and as part of a team.

- Maintain an excellent level of patient care and customer service at all times.

- Display a high level of organisation and cleanliness in the hospital and kennel areas.

- Effectively manage time and be competent in all areas of nursing.

- Hold a Veterinary Nursing Certificate or Diploma.

The clinic is equipped with an in-house blood machine, digital x-ray and ultrasound.

The practice operates out of two purpose-built clinics that service approximately 1500 working dogs, 1000 companion animal clients, over 25,000 dairy cows and 260 sheep, beef and dairy support farms.
