Are you a mixed practitioner seeking a role in the city? Enjoy the best of both worlds!

A privately-owned, mixed-practice in Northern Sydney is looking for an energetic and dynamic vet to join their multi-vet team.

The team is looking for a real team player who is dynamic, creative and driven. Applicants should be energised by providing a fantastic service and love being a trusted advisor to clients. The practice owner has indicated that there are partnership prospects for the right candidate if desired.

The practice sees roughly 60-65% small animal, 25-30% Horses and 5-10% exotics & wildlife.

Previous experience within general equine practice (lameness and colic general practice workups) is highly advantageous; however, for the right candidate, small animal only candidates will be considered.

The employer strongly values and protects work-life balance and is also very fortunate to have a loyal and respectful client base.

Perks of the role include:

- Six weeks of annual leave

- Commitment to supporting yearly continuing education through attendance at conferences, online webinars, etc.

- Travel allowance for practitioners who are involved in equine consultations

- The welfare of vets looked after and addressing poor client behaviour (when it rarely happens)

- Team dinners and opportunities to relax together (only if that is your thing!)

The perfect candidate will possess the following:

- Experience in both/either ultrasound and/or surgery.

- An open, flexible, can-do attitude

- Be team focussed with respect for nursing staff

- Have an interest in sharing/discussing cases and an interest in contributing knowledge to the hospital

- Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Vets usually work a four-day week, with some of these days finishing at 3 pm. After-hours are 1:3 (Monday to Thursday), with additional remuneration for after-hours call-outs provided. A shared roster requires 1 in 3 or 4 weekends (consulting only) with currently no on-call for weekends.

Feedback from staff during regular reviews and feedback sessions consistently focuses on a positive environment, ensuring that the team feel well-supported and listened to.

The practice is well-equipped with digital x-ray, IM3 dental, dental x-ray, an in-house laboratory, and a newly purchased ultrasound. The practice has strong relationships with referral clinics and specialists in small animal and equine departments, and the team engages mobile specialists to assist with cases.

The practice is surrounded by greenery and open space, located in a beautiful leafy suburb on Sydney's outskirts, just 25km north of the CBD.
