A diverse practice in South Western Victoria is seeking an experienced veterinarian to join the team as the new Clinical Lead at their brand-new clinic.
This is a hands-on clinical role suited to a veterinarian wishing to work within a mixed animal team. A desire to focus on small animals would be an advantage. The practice sees a caseload of 60% small animals and 40% livestock, which is predominately sheep, beef, plus some equine.
The successful applicant will lead a dedicated team of 10 vets and 30 support staff. As part of your new role, you will mentor the recently graduated veterinarians within the team. Together with the local leadership team, you will participate in day-to-day clinic operation, budgeting and development of your team's skills.
This is a full-time or part-time position, with full-time hours entailing a four or five-day work week, if preferred. The employer is very open to flexible start/finish times to accommodate family and work-life balance.
About you:
- At least 5 years of clinical experience in a small animal or mixed clinic.
- Previous experience with or ready to step up to leading a team.
- Lead by example with a positive can-do approach.
- Enjoy working with people as much as animals.
- Enthusiastic and motivated by being part of something new.
Remuneration:
- $150,000 pa + superannuation
- Mobile phone and laptop provided
- AVA membership and VSB registration paid
- Choice of CE subscriptions
- Assistance with relocation
Additional benefits of the role include paid parental leave, paid volunteer leave and support for your continuing professional development.
The employer is willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.
The town is in the Western District of Victoria. It is a major hub of Australia's livestock grazing industry, boasting a vibrant regional community. There are first-class schools and a large public hospital within close proximity to the coast, Grampians mountain ranges and wineries. It is an ideal location for a charming country life.
