JOB NO: 212,584MH

An exciting opportunity has become available for a veterinarian to join a well-established, family-owned practice just 2 hours from Melbourne.

This is a progressive and supportive team of 5 vets and 8 support staff who are ready to welcome a new addition to the practice. The team are dedicated to providing gold-standard patient care and value professional development opportunities.

Work-life balance is a priority at this practice, having partnered with the Lincoln Institute to promote staff well-being through a positive workplace culture and strong leadership.

The practice is open to hearing from vets interested in a 100% small animal role, a mixed role or a 100% large animal role. Vets with any level of experience are welcome to apply.

The overall practice caseload is 60% small animal and 40% large animal, including beef, sheep, equine and the occasional alpaca.

For mixed or large animal vets, an interest in beef and sheep medicine and the ability to preg test cattle would be highly valued. No dairy work means no late nights and no early mornings.

Clinic opening hours are 9 AM-6 PM Monday through Friday and 9 AM-12 PM Saturday. The practice is closed on Sundays. The number of hours to be worked per week can be tailored for the right candidate.

The on-call roster is approximately 1 in 8 weekends and 1 weeknight per fortnight. Calls are screened by a triage service to minimise after hours disruptions. Callouts are minimal, especially during the winter months.

The practice is willing to offer 3 months free accommodation and a generous CPD allowance.

The employer is also willing to assist with a work permit (sponsorship) for suitable overseas candidates. Applicants must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and be eligible for registration as a veterinary practitioner in Australia.

Located 2 hours from Melbourne and 1.5 hours from the stunning coastline, the area features well-established wineries, restaurants, picturesque hiking trails and independent retail boutiques. Practically on the doorstep of the heritage-listed Grampians, this is a prime location to live, work and play!

Vetlink is a free service for job seekers.
